Between 2026-07-29 and 2026-08-07 this site ran three completely different visual designs against each other on live traffic. That test has finished. It is not still running, and nothing about your visit today is being assigned at random.
The three arms
- A — Noir. Near-black, one accent hue per game, film grain. The original look.
- B — Neon. Deeper black, much higher chroma, hard glow, tight corners, monospace UI. An arcade cabinet.
- C — Paper. Light editorial: warm off-white, ink type, a serif headline, almost no glow. The playfields stay dark.
What was decided
Paper won and is now the site's design. It reads better on the pages people actually arrive on from search — the rules and strategy write-ups — and it does not punish anyone playing in daylight. Neon was retired outright.
Noir was too good to delete, so it is now a scheduled change of clothes: every third day the whole site wears Noir instead of Paper. That schedule is worked out from the calendar date, so it is the same for everybody and the same on every page — nobody gets a different site to their friend, and a challenge link always looks the way the sender saw it. The skin flips at the same local midnight the games themselves reset at.
Which theme is today?
Working it out from your calendar…
You can also just pick one. The Theme buttons in the footer of every page override the schedule permanently for you, on this device, until you change them again.
A note on honesty
While the test ran, this page promised live per-arm results. The collector behind it was never connected to a store, so no aggregate was ever published here and the decision was made on judgement rather than on numbers this page can show you. Saying so is better than leaving a table that was always empty.
Privacy
Nothing about the theme leaves your device. There is no identifier, no cookie and no profile; your manual choice, if you make one, lives in your own browser.
